About Child Care Connection

Who We AreMahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit and Trumbull counties

Child Care Connection is your regional child care resource and referral agency part of Ohio's network of Child Care Resource & Referrals agencies.  With over 22 years of service to the region, CCC is a leader, advocate and resource for high-quality early childhood education and care.

Child Care Connection was created in 1989 by Info Line, Inc. to be a comprehensive community-based child care resource and referral service.  Child Care Connection has been providing early care and education services as the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services state designated child care resource and referral agency for SDA #4 since 1993.

What We Do

As the state designated child care resource and referral agency for this region, Child Care Connection is the hub of information on early care and education programs and the largest provider of training and technical assistance for early childhood care-givers and teachers. Child Care Connection assists families, child-care centers, family child care providers and employers.

For families, we:

  • offer information on child care options and selecting quality child care
  • operate the only area child care resource and referral service to assist in finding child care. (Child Care Connection is a Child Care Aware® Quality Assured Consumer Education Referral Service).
  • maintain a database of more than 1,500 child-care options in the service delivery area including licensed child-care centers, preschools, school-age child-care programs, and family child-care homes.

For the community, we

  • advocate on behalf of children and families on relevant public policy issues
  • participate in community initiates that support children and families
  • gather and provide information on the needs of families and children
  • maintain a database on the demand and supply of child care and early education

For child care providers, we:

  • provide a variety of professional development opportunities for child care professionals
  • support programs with quality improvement through technical assistance, coaching and mentoring.
  • offer assistance to individuals who want to start a center-based program.
  • sponsor the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), the USDA reimbursement program for serving nutritious meals to children in care.
  • support family child-care providers

For employers, we:

  • provide enhanced resource and referral services to the employees of participating companies.
  • facilitate on-site parenting workshops for employees of participating companies.
  • consult with employers on work and family issues such as sick child care and parental leave.
